![]() The reset procedure for the MacBook Air is supposed to be the CTRL-Shift-Option + Power button, however this did not work for me. So, I found suggestions to reset the SMC, which I did. It seems that Apple has had this problem in various forms going back at least seven years. After searching this forum, I found that many, many users of practically all types of Mac laptops have similar problems. If I disconnected the battery, then the computer would power from the AC adapter. Once the new battery was installed, the computer would operate from battery, but would not recognize the AC adapter and charge the battery. I have a mid-2011 MacBook Air, and I recently replaced the battery.
